Consultation update
The Consultation conducted by NatureScot on behalf of the Scottish Government, which considered whether Galloway should be designated as Scotland’s third National Park, closed on Friday 14th February 2025. NatureScot will publish the consultation responses and their analysis after submitting their advice to Scottish Ministers in Spring 2025
YES to Galloway,
NO to a Park
Galloway has been chosen as the preferred location for Scotland’s next National Park, but it’s not too late to stop it.
We need investment urgently, but we don’t need a wasteful, bureaucratic National Park to deliver what we need. Affordable housing, better roads, better schools and health care and good jobs should be our priorities, not more civil servants.
Supporters of a National Park say it will encourage tourism, but we can’t cope with what we have, so our infrastructure needs improvement first.
And we already have tourist attractions and a Scottish Government agency to promote them.
